I have been using the original Galaxy Gear for about 6 months now and the watch was fantastic. I say was because I recently broke my Samsung phone. I replaced it with a Nexus 5 and although its reported to work with any Android phone on KitKat most of the features no longer work. I knew I was going to lose S-voice and other proprietary apps from Samsung but the lack of functionality makes the watch worse than the old Sony smart watch I had. If you've got a Samsung phone I'd recommend one of the tizen powered watches but if not steer clear of any Samsung watches.
